44 DAYS – MITCHAM JNR

2014 EFL Pre-Season Wiki | Tomorrow: Lilydale

MITCHAM Junior Football Club president Luke Smith speaks to Damian Watson as his club prepares for the 2014 season.

Damian Watson: Overall, were you satisfied with what the club achieved, both on and off the field, in 2013?

Luke Smith: Yes very satisfied. I thought our two teams that made the finals last year were exceptional and they are looking to make that one step further next year.

Approximately how many teams do you think you will field in 2014?

Seven.

What has the feeling been like around the club over the pre-season?

It has been fantastic so far. We have a record number of kids who have already signed up and we are looking forward to a really good season.

If you had to pick one, which team do you think is the club’s best chance of winning a premiership this season?

Either our Under 12’s side or Under 17’s side who are both looking good for this season.

Is there a particular age group of players that you need as soon as possible to fill a team ahead of Round 1?

We could probably do with a few more players in the Under 9’s, but other than that I think we are almost booked out with the teams we have.

If any players are interested in playing for Mitcham Junior Football Club this season, what do they have to do?
