In Division 1, Blackburn continued its streak of recent form, registering a three-point win over Balwyn on Saturday afternoon. Jake Hammond again led the charge for the Burners, kicking four goals – making it a combined total of 12 goals in his last two matches. Meanwhile, North Ringwood proved too good for Norwood at Quambee Reserve, prevailing by 17 points.
In Division 2, Upper Ferntree Gully was victorious over Mulgrave, running out 48-point winners. Hore led the goal-kicking for the Kings, finishing with four.
The Basin dished out an 82-point drubbing to South Belgrave in Division 3, led by captain Trevor Mills with four majors. Meanwhile, Scoresby ran out 35-point winners over Donvale, off the back of two goals each to Wade McConnon, Dale Hehir and David Evans-Marcius.
The Whitehorse Pioneers’ unbeaten start to 2018 has come to an end in Division 4, with Forest Hill grinding out a nine-point victory in a match played intermittently in heavy rain. Tim Johnston was among the best afield for the Zebras, along with Jacob Mowat, while Steve Pimm booted six goals.
