After a tight first half tussle Boronia Gold managed to gain the ascendency early in the third term of Tonight’s Netball EFL Grand Final.

The Hawks, buoyed by a 12-4 run in the third took a commanding lead into the final break and controlled the final term to run out winners 51-32.

Goal Attack Jess Thomson was named the Blue Ribbon Medallist (Best on Court) for her efforts under the post. Thomson was also a pillar of strength up the court as the mid court link for the Boronia Gold side.

At the other end of the Court GK Steph McNay held the fort brilliantly making it tough for the Croydon attack to gain any control in the front court.

It was a commanding season from Boronia Gold, and after the match Croydon Captain/Coach Alicia Hughes said “Boronia Gold – we will get you next year” with a laugh as the Blues look towards the 2015 Season.

Boronia Gold: Kellie Newton (captain) Rebecca Mills (captain) Casey Hahn Catherine Rhodes Jess Thomson Claire Van Dreumel Sarah Alexander Steph McNay

Coach: Matt Bundy
