The 34-year-old, who coached Coldstream from 2007 to 2009, takes over the reins from EFL legend and six-time league Best and Fairest Matt Price.

Doughty will be hoping to lead the Cougars to their first EFL premiership since 2001 and back into Division 3.

After beginning his junior football career with Coldstream, Doughty moved to Croydon in 1999 and became a key cog in in the Division 1 club’s senior side. He then moved back to the Cougars as a playing-coach, booting 178 goals during his three-year tenure.

Between 2010 and 2012, Doughty played at Montrose. He managed 23 senior games and was part of the Demons’ 2012 Reserves premiership side.

Doughty returned to Coldstream Reserve as Price’s playing-assistant coach at the start of 2013. He booted 32 goals from 11 games.
