Eastern Region Female Competitions & Talent Coordinator Appointed

The AFL Yarra Ranges, Eastern Football League and the Eastern Ranges are pleased to announce the appointment of Jessie Mulholland as the region’s inaugural Female Competitions & Talent Coordinator.

Mulholland brings to the role a variety of football experience in both competition and talented player program management across both NSW and Victoria.

During her tenure at AFL NSW/ACT, Mulholland filled several roles including Illawarra Youth Girls AFL Coordinator and acted as the South Coast Football Operations Manager overseeing both senior and junior competitions.

Since moving to Melbourne Jessie has continued to grow on her experience in the industry through her role as a Game Development Officer in Melbourne’s north-west which included the delivery of school based participation programs and providing administrative support for the state’s AFL Auskick program.

Jessie also worked closely with the Calder Cannons premiership-winning TAC Cup girls team in season 2017.

Jessie’s understanding of the female football landscape is further complemented from her roles as a club president, committee member, player and coach during her time in football.

AFL Yarra Ranges Region Manager Aaron Bailey said both he and EFL CEO Phil Murton were thrilled to have someone of Jessie’s calibre join the management of the Eastern Region Girls and Women’s competitions.

“Jessie brings to the role a great background in football along with sound knowledge of competition management in the area of female football at both senior and junior level,” Bailey said.

“In addition, at a time of significant growth in the female game, Jessie will provide a great resource to all of our local clubs looking to start up both youth girls and senior women’s teams in the region.”

Eastern Region Talent Manager Len Villani said: “I am delighted to have Jessie join us to support the Eastern Ranges TAC Cup girls program, which continues to expand as it strives to offer talented female footballers within the region the same opportunities as their male counterparts.”

Jessie will commence her role in the mid-November and will spend her time working between all three organisations.
