The 2016 Bendigo Bank Division 1 Grand Final Balwyn v Vermont – Bayswater Oval

There are several reasons why many EFL pundits regard the Division 1 decider as the best day on the EFL Calendar and finally in 2016 the game lived up to its reputation and delivered with Balwyn making it four out of five in a tight affair against rivals Vermont.

Having already played some close games in the 2016 season, last year’s decider was set to be the tightest in recent history. However, someone forgot to alert Nathan Gordon, the Balwyn recruit booted the first four goals of the game.

The Eagles were forced to fight back multiple times during the game and at one stage found themselves some five goals down. Balwyn led from start to finish and keep a talented Vermont side at arm’s reach.

Check out the highlights or the full game below with the EFL Media Team taking you through all the big moments. Dyson Baker and Ben Warren-Smith in Commentary alongside Ray Baird and Wayne Brasher with Angus McLeod and Alana Coleman riding the boundary.
