EFL STATEMENT – DONVALE

The EFL has received confirmation from the Donvale Football Club that it will not be fielding Senior, Reserves or Under 19 teams in the EFL in season 2014.

A sub-committee of the club has been formed to investigate and develop options for the future of the club, including that of a merger with Whitefriars Football Club.

As a result, Division 2 will now be a nine-team competition with a bye in the fixture where Donvale had previously been.

The structure of competitions for 2015 and the effect this has on promotion and relegation at the end of 2014 will be confirmed with competing clubs in Division’s 2 and 3 later this season.

Donvale Football Club juniors will continue to play in the EFL junior competition.
