In a heartwarming and historic moment for the Rowville Football Club, Round 15 will see father Richard Jago take the field alongside his son Riley in the Reserves.

It was originally hoped that all four Jagos—Richard, Mitchell, McKenzie, and Riley—would play together, but unfortunately, injuries played a part in limiting the moment to just father and son.

Still, it’s a milestone worth celebrating. The Jago family has been part of the RFC fabric for over 20 years, with all three boys rising through the ranks from Under 8s to Senior football.

Now, Richard and Riley will share the field, creating a powerful memory for their family and for the club.

Rowville Football Club Senior Coach Ben Wise, whose leadership continues to prioritise club culture and community over “win at all costs.”

“Most dads secretly dream of playing in the same team as their sons,” said Ben. “And sometimes, putting community spirit first is more important. Being able to create this moment for the Jago family is enormous for club morale," Wise said.

The Hawks are set to host Berwick this Saturday at Seebeck Oval.
