Mother’s Day Weekend and PLAY4BCNA
This weekend EFNL clubs will show their support for Australians affected by breast cancer with the league hosting a PLAY4BCNA Pink Sports Day Round across the competition. The round coincides with Mother’s Day weekend across May 7 – 9, 2021.
The PLAY4BCNA Round has officially been registered with Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) as a Pink Sports Day with clubs raising funds for BCNA to help support all Australian women and men affected by breast cancer. Football and netball clubs will be getting involved in a variety of ways from players wearing pink socks on the field through to hosting ladies’ luncheons, running raffles and collecting donations via their online fundraising pages and through tins at match day. Our Veteran Women’s competition is hosting a BCNA round robin of matches at Heights Reserve on Saturday.
Our match of the Round this week sees Boronia play host to their close neighbours The Basin who are undefeated and sitting on top of the Division Two ladder. Boronia will be keen to bounce back following their loss to Heathmont and inflict The Basin’s first loss of the season. Across the divisions there are plenty of big clashes so get out and support your local club.
When attending matches please ensure that you behave in an appropriate manner for a family friendly environment and are respectful to all players, spectators, officials, and the umpires. Mostly good reports have come back to us early in the season regarding club and crowd behaviour so let’s ensure this continues.
Happy Mother’s Day and best of luck to all teams.
