This Eastern Football League are pleased to again help promote the Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation’s “Gambling’s Not a Game” sporting club program.
Our partnership with the foundation started in 2015 and in light of recent press regarding the gambling problems of many young men involved in football we are pleased to help promote this worthwhile program.
It helps show clubs and individuals the resources and help that is available for those in need, or provide information for others to prevent them falling in the same trap.No one’s saying don’t have the odd flutter, but when it becomes an all-consuming problem it can have a devastating effect on your family and friends.
If you’ve got any friends you may think have an issue, talk to them about the round and what it means and encourage them to look at some of the resources.
“The Sporting Club program aims to counter the growing culture of gambling in sport by supporting clubs across Victoria to take a responsible approach to gambling.
Managed by the Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation, the program is about raising awareness of the risk associated with gambling and creating a responsible and healthy club environment.
It’s about focusing on the love of the game, not the odds.”
