It is with great sadness for everyone at the East Burwood Football Club and the football community in general, to hear that Colin Tainton has passed away.

An East Burwood FC and Eastern Football League life member Colin played 456 games for the Rams between 1946 and 1971, commencing with the rams at age 16.

Forming part of a dominant time in the clubs history, Tainton became a six time

premiership player, between 1963 and 1968 the Rams were only headed once claiming five of the six flags in that time, the most successful period the club has seen.

Tainton, a three time league Best and Fairest also claimed six club awards and now has the Rams Senior Best and Fairest medal named in his honour.

Senior Coach for five seasons, Vice-Captain and Centre in the East Burwood Team of the Century, 100 year anniversary Hall of Fame Member. A great personal history as a club champion and legend.

His contribution to East Burwood has been one of remarkable achievement, with honours that still stand unbeaten and of which many players I’m sure would aspire to.

Rest in peace, Colin.
