The Eastern Football Netball League is saddened by the news that league life member and Croydon Football Club great Roger O’Brien has passed away.
Roger holds the Croydon FNC club games record of 453 games across his career.
The Vice Captain of the 1960 Premiership side with the Blues, Roger was also a part of the 1973 Croydon Reserves premiership team.
Roger was involved in 30 finals with the Blues as either captain/coach or non-playing coach.
Twice named in the league Team of the Year which included the 1957 team, selected as the first Ruckman.
In 1998, he was named in Croydon's Team of the Century.
