Warrandyte has announced Anthony McGregor as its senior coach for 2018.
McGregor, who was officially announced as coach by Bloods president Peter Hookey on Thursday night, has previously held coaching roles with Bundoora, Reservoir and South Morang in the Northern Football League, and the Northern Bullants (now known as the Northern Blues) as a playing-assistant in the VFL.
McGregor’s playing career began at Collingwood in the VFL, followed by a stint at Prahan where he was drafted shortly after to Fitzroy, playing 41 games and kicking 11 goals.
He later played with Barooga in the Murray Football League in a premiership side, followed by NFL powerhouse, Heidelberg.
“Anthony and his family have recently moved to Warrandyte and shown keen interest watching several home games this year,” Warrandyte Football Club said in a statement.
“He brings a wealth of top level experience and knowledge to the Warrandyte Football Club and the committee is very pleased to have him oversee our playing group.”
