The Falcons are ready to soar in 2025 with new coach Duncan Jones appointed as new coach for this upcoming season.
Jones again is no stranger in the EFNL having previously coached Whitehorse, assistant coached at Park Orchards and previously spent time at Williamstown VFL as head of development.
“I was really happy with the vision that the club gave me," Jones said.
"The leaders showed how committed this proud club is and where they want to go as a whole club.”
Jones’ key expectation is to lead these young footballers back to the finals. He's also wanting to make the team better footballers with a modern game plan.
A couple key players from the Falcons have been having big pre-seasons. Young Lilydale prodigy Rowan Tucker has really impressed Duncan Jones.
“He’s a really coachable kid and has definitely been lighting it up on the track," Jones said.
Another player who also had a big pre-season is former Montrose player Corey Waite.
“He hasn’t missed a bit during pre-season, he’s definitely shown the development that Corey has implemented," Jones said.
Max Dooley has also come from Doncaster this season and has definitely shown this pre-season what he can bring, able to play either tall or small forward as well as spending some minutes in the midfield.
Josh Scrivano has also signed with the Falcons he is currently playing for the Banks Bulldogs in the NTFL, and he has also spent time down the Peninsula.
After a difficult couple of seasons, 2024 saw the young Falcons side take vital steps forward, winning six games in their new division. They'll look to build off that this season and start to make further progress up the Division Two ladder.
Lilydale will open up their season with a clash against Croydon at Lilydale Sports Oval on April 5th.
