EFNL becomes signatory of Womens and Girls Community Football Charter

The Eastern Football Netball League is thrilled to announce it has been officially recognised as a signatory of the Women and Girls Community Football Charter.
The Women & Girls Community Football Charter is a commitment from Community Football Leagues, Clubs & Umpire Groups to work towards ensuring that all Football environments are welcoming, safe and inclusive for Women & Girls.
EFNL Club and Community Manager, Heath Black, is excited about the recognition and the continued work across EFNL clubs to support women and girls in community sport.
“This is a significant step forward for our competition and recognises the work being done across our clubs to support, grow and champion women and girls in football and netball,” Black said.
“From Auskick through to senior football, the future is strong and we’re committed to continuing to build an environment where women and girls can thrive.”
Within the Eastern Football Netball League, 16 clubs are also recognised as charter clubs. The Eastern Football League Umpires Association has also been recognised since October of 2024.
The league is proud to have a continually growing female participation numbers across both the junior and senior competitions.
In 2025, the junior competition saw the Girls competition increase from 101 teams to 113 teams across 16 divisions. The league now has 31 of our clubs represented in the junior Girls competition.
The Senior Women’s competition has since grown to six divisions with a total of 45 teams set to compete in 2026, including the return of Rowville’s Senior Women’s program.
