Surrey Park Black claimed their first win of the 2025 Ringwood Mazda netball Division 2 season, defeating Blackburn Black by 56 goals in a superb performance at HE Parker.

A 12-4 opening term set the tone for the Surrey Park, who outscored Blackburn in each remaining quarter on their way to producing an impressive 64-8 triumph.

It was a dominant opening half from Surrey Park shooter Imogen Panetta that played a role in her side’s strong win on Friday night. She finished with 30 goals for the match, 25 of them coming in the second half.

Chloe Mansfield was impressive in her own right at goal attack and scored 23 goals, while teammates Sienna Kelly was a standout in the midcourt in Centre and Wing Attack. Chloe Mansfield and Imogen Panetta were both brilliant and played their role in attack.

Surrey Park’s ability to apply great amounts of pressure to their opposition, was the catalyst in their strong start to the match.

Led by Lily Malone, Emma Staridk and Madison Taylor, they didn’t allow Blackburn any easy transitions down the court, while in the attacking third, the Surrey Park also controlled things as a unit, with an six goals each first term from Wilson and Mansfield seeing the side lead by eight at the first break.

The intensity didn’t fall away in the second term as the defensive unit of South Belgrave, ensuring Bayswater only registered one goal for the term.

Surrey Park came out of the blocks strongly to start the second half, continuing to work hard in defence and making their opportunities count in attack, resulting in extending their margin to 39 goals approaching the final quarter.

The Saints made sure of the victory with another terrific term in the last, scoring 18 goals to one. It capped off a brilliant four quarter performance which resulted in them winning their first match of the season.
