Netball returns after the King's Birthday long weekend BYE round tonight across all five venues. See a preview of some of the key matches on court tonight from our top 3 divisions of the EFNL Ringwood Mazda Netball Competition:
Premier Division
A big night ahead for the league's Premier Division, with a number of key matches to be played tonight at Maroondah Nets. Court 1 will play host to East Ringwood (2nd) taking on Norwood (3rd), following their surprise Round 7 loss. Norwood's leading goaler Summah Hinchcliffe (182 goals) whose accurate shooting from all areas continues to cause headaches, will unfortunately miss tonight’s clash. Meanwhile, East Ringwood's captain and past league Best and Fairest winner, Emily Salmon, will be a key focus of Norwood defenders as they look to limit her movements onto the post.
Heathmont will be looking to secure their top 4 position as they take on Coldstream, who only sit one win outside the top 4 themselves.
Donvale will be looking to achieve their first win of the season, as a number of key players return to their side to take on Vermont Eagles who are on a winning high after their clinical performance against East Ringwood before the break.
Division 1
Division 1 is as close as it comes for many sides sitting outside the top 4, with just 4 points separating 8th positioned East Burwood Rams and 3rd positioned East Ringwood.
All eyes will be on the top of the ladder clash between Bayswater and Norwood tonight, and it's sure to keep everyone on the edge of their seats. Last time these two teams met was back in Round 1 of the season, with Bayswater only winning by 2 goals.
Mitcham will be looking to gain the all important 4 points as they take on FTG Eagles Gold who are tied with them on points in 6th and 7th position respectively.
Division 2
Mitcham, who have seen three draws in a row in recent weeks will be looking to go one better against Park Orchards who also played in an exciting draw against Knox Falcons prior to the mid-season bye.
