The countdown to Round 1 continues!
Most EFL clubs are working hard in Pre-Christmas sessions ahead of a huge 2016 season.
Next year’s season will commence Saturday April 9/ Sunday April 10 with a number of must-see games right across the Eastern Suburbs.
We remain in the same format as 2015, 44 teams and four Divisions meaning that there will be 22 great games as you #LOVEITLOCAL!
Round 1 is set to be a highlight once again, here are some of the games that are not to be missed April 9/10!
Division 1
– Two 2015 Premiers will unfurl their flag in Round 1 next season – Balwyn will host Montrose at SEN Park, while Doncaster welcome Blackburn to Shark Park.
– Division 1 Finalists Vermont and Norwood are set to clash Round 1 at the Eagles Nest, both sides looking to improve on last year’s performance and take the next step!
– As they did in 2015, East Ringwood and North Ringwood will clash in two Sunday games, the first of which will be in Round 1 at East Ringwood, the return game in Round 11 at Quambee.
Division 2
– Old rivals Croydon and Bayswater meet once again as the Blues look to make a mends for their 2015 finals campaign.
– Mitcham embark on just their second ever season in Division 2, they will head to Fleet St to take on Waverley Blues in Round 1.
– After being relegated, Lilydale will take on East Burwood at the LSO in Round 1.
Division 3
– For the second successive season, Scoresby will take on a previous season premiers, coming up against Warrandyte in Round 1 at home.
– Based on 2015, the clash at the Wharf in Round 1 could be a Grand Final Preview between Templestowe and The Basin.
– New jumper and new coach, Heathmont will travel up the mountain in Round 1 and take on South Belgrave.
Division 4
– Ferntree Gully have a tough ask first up, the Eagles will play Grand Finalists Kilsyth in Round 1 as the look to get back into finals for the first time since 2013.
– Facing Division 4 for the first time since their undefeated premiership run in 2007, Whitehorse Pioneers will kick off its campaign against Donvale at home.
– Two Division 4 up and comers Eastern Lions and Glen Waverley Hawks meet at Fair Park.
