Senior Mens
Ladder Position: 3rd (9-7, 131.99%)
Leading Goalkicker: Jake Bowd (34 Goals)
Season Summary:
A promising year with high expectations didn’t come to fruition for the Eagles who bowed out of the finals in straight sets.
After making further progress in 2024 to play off in a Preliminary Final, the bar was set high for Beaconsfield who had certainly put together a strong list capable of becoming a premiership side.
They flexed their muscles early, winning six of their first seven games before a shock loss at home to Bayswater. It led to a mid-season drop off, losing five of six games before getting back on track with percentage boosting wins over Norwood and Bayswater.
Despite a Round 18 loss to the Sharks, they held on to the double chance thanks to a Mooroolbark upset win over Boronia.
It set up another clash with Park Orchards in the first week of the finals, where they copped a 61-point loss to the Sharks at East Burwood Reserve. They bounced back a week late in the Semi Final against North Ringwood at Pinks Reserve. A tight encounter, in the end the Eagles falling five points short.
Best Win: Round Ten – Beaconsfield 11.6 72 def. North Ringwood 10.11 71 @ Quambee Reserve
A win made a little more impressive after the fact, when considering the way, the Saints finished off the year.
Like their finals meeting, there wasn’t much between the two sides, Beaconsfield converting their opportunities in an accurate display.
The Eagles found themselves 16 points down early in the fourth term before kicking the final three goals of the game to steal the win.
Hayden Brough kicked two of the last three, including the match-winner at the 21-minute mark. Brough finished with four for the game.
Key Players:
Jake Aarts proved to be a crucial recruit for the Eagles. A Team of the Year spot for the former Richmond man, averaging 27.6 disposals, 14 contested possessions, 5.4 tackles and 7.1 clearances per game.
Damien Johnston, Jake Bowd and Ethan Harris all had great seasons, members of the Team of the Year Squad.
What’s Next?
A big challenge ahead is presenting itself for the Eagles, they’ll be missing a few of their best contributors from 2025, such as Damien Johnston and Ethan Harris, both players signing with Upper Ferntree Gully.
The club also announced that Mick Fogarty has stepped down as Senior Coach due to family reasons. Fogarty has played a crucial role in Beaconsfield’s move to the EFNL and leading the side to back-to-back finals appearances.
The Eagles new Senior Coach is Scott Kerr, most recently having key roles as the senior assistant coach and development coach at Beaconsfield.
The Under 19.5’s celebrated the premiership this season so there’s certainly positive signs for the future as they make their transition into senior footy.

Season Summary:
Moving to Division Two this season, Beaconsfield was able to pick up a few wins and make some great improvements on the field.
The three wins for the Eagles came against both Berwick twice and Kilsyth once.
Their overall performance against the top four sides showed signs of the future, challenging some of those top Division Two teams.

Alari Georgia Malkoun was fantastic in her first season back at Beaconsfield, kicking 17 goals from nine games. This included four games of three goals of more, three of those games against finals teams.
Abbey Dibben was another of the Eagles recruits this year and she had a fantastic start with the club, finishing second in the club’s best and fairest.
What’s Next?
Glen Davies has recommitted to the club to coach the Senior Women’s side again in 2026 which is a great sign for the side.
The Eagles remained competitive against some of the best sides in the division, if they can continue to close the gap between them and the top four, they can increase their chances of a return to the finals.
